Spring Road Trip Tips

With the Spring weather we are experiencing in the north, you’re probably making plans to head south for a week and spend some time in the sun. However, if you’re going to take a road trip, there are a lot of situations you need to be prepared for. Follow these Spring road trip tips for a safe and fun drive!

road trip tips

One of the most important parts of planning a road trip is getting your car inspected. You don’t want to break down hundreds of miles from home! Check your tires, get your battery tested, get your oil changed, and check your fluids.

It’s a good idea to have a plan for the trip, but don’t plan too strictly, because a road trip requires some flexibility. Make sure you have plenty of time for extra gas and bathroom stops—you might even want to drop by some roadside attractions. In the same vein, plan the time you leave to avoid traffic as much as possible. It’ll help you save money on gas and a whole lot of frustration if you aren’t sitting still on the highway for hours.

Finally, don’t let yourself get bored! Bring plenty of entertainment options, like audiobooks, music playlists, and toys and games to keep everyone occupied. Time will go by a lot faster if you’re keeping your mind busy.

If you need a new set of wheels to take you on your Spring road trip, stop by Ken Pollock Mitsubishi.

Mitsubishi has 6 all-new models in the works, plus 5 redesigns

Best Road Trips in Pennsylvania to Take This Fall

road trips in Pennsylvania

If you’ve ever driven through Pennsylvania, you know it’s one of the most beautiful places in the country, especially during the fall. So if you’re looking for a way to spend your weekends this fall, why not try a road trip around the state? Here are some great ideas for the best road trips to take in Pennsylvania this season.

A highly-recommend road trip is to go through Pennsylvania’s ghost towns. Starting from Ghost Town Trail, the trip is eleven and a half hours driving, making a loop that hits Fallbrook Cemetery, Ricketts, Concrete City, Centralia, the Abandoned Pennsylvania Turnpike, and more. The beginning and end of the route are close together and fairly close to Pittsburgh.

In the same vein, you could take a trip through Pennsylvania’s most abandoned places, perfect for Halloween. But if you’d keep it light on the creepy factor, try the state’s most picturesque small towns. Start from Ligonier if you’re near Pittsburg and check out Hollidaysburg, Elizabethtown, Eagles Mere, and more, stopping only once you’ve reached Smethport.

If you’re not interested in visiting towns and cities and you’d rather check out the natural wonders of Pennsylvania, there’s a road trip for that too! Pennsylvania is full of interesting and beautiful nature, from Dinosaur Rock to Ringing Rock County Park. Or you can take advantage of the season and go on a fall foliage road trip, which will take you from outside Pittsburgh all the way to Philadelphia and back for some incredible views of the changing leaves.

The Mitsubishi Outlander and Outlander Sport are perfect for a leisurely drive around the state, so if you’re looking for a great road trip car, come down to Ken Pollock Mitsubishi today!

Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross May Win Golden Steering Wheel Award

The Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross has yet to arrive here in the United States and won’t until early next year. However, it is already receiving praise, including being on the shortlist to receive the Golden Steering Wheel award.

This award is given out each year by Auto Bild, a German automotive magazine. The Eclipse Cross is one of a dozen small SUVs competing for the final award. Soon, an expert group of judges will test and compare each of these vehicles before choosing the winner.

“The Eclipse Cross has generated a huge amount of interest and this nomination proves just how eagerly awaited it is as well as the impact it is destined to have on its segment. It’s already amassed thousands of admirers and we’re looking forward to seeing their enthusiasm turn into a lot of votes,” said Lance Bradley, Managing Director of Mitsubishi Motors in the UK.
